I recently completed a cool New York Fashion Week Virtual Reality shoot for Under Armour. I was the Director of Photography and VR Consultant. The Director was my longtime friend Jonathan Jacobson, with IKA Productions. Utilizing technology from Wirewax, who produced the video, the 360 video has “hotspots” that make the video shoppable, As you see the various looks on the models, (or as part of a cool product display installation that was part of the fashion show) you can click on them to open links to buy what they are wearing.
We shot on the Nokia OZO camera, and I am now an AbelCine certified OZO technician, available to go out with their rig for any OZO gigs.
One of the most interesting aspects of this project was the quick turnaround. We needed to have the video posted online within a matter of hours after shooting the fashion show. That factor warranted a lot of research into what the best solution was for quick turnaround. We researched several Live Stream options, (not to actually broadcast live, but to have fast access to stitched camera feeds) but ultimately settled on the OZO for image quality.
Check out the video at the link below. It looks & functions best in Google Chrome.
